Information received from Mr. Maughan,

and from husbands who have returned from Australia, indicates that weekly rates to cover all expenses of evacuation except medical treatment, suggested in your telegram 30th August 1940, and approved in my telegram 5th September 1940, may no longer be sufficient, in view of the increase in the cost-of-living in Australia since the arrival of the evacuees over a year ago.

Grateful for your advice, and suggestions as to amendment of weekly rates.
